Weekly Report 06.22 - 06.28

1Player of the week: Che-Hsuan Lin. Lin hit .320 this week bringing his season total up to .261. He's still displaying a very good eye, but he needs to find some power. Without it he will be merely a average to good prospect instead of an elite one.

Blowup of the week: Ching-Lung Lo. Lo had a terrible week, allowing 7 runs and 4 walks in 3.2 innings. He still has a decent 3.83 ERA this season so unless he's injured, Lo probably just had a bad week.

Newcomer of the week: Fu-Te Ni. Ni has been hammered in the majors this year as his control has completely abandoned him (walking almost a batter per inning). While he's had some bad luck with balls in play, a high BABIP of .368, he definitely needs to refine his control if he hopes to pitch in Detroit again this year. Ni's lack of control could possibly be due to him being too careful and trying to hit the edges of the plate too much, or more dangerously, he could be experiencing elbow problems.
